Sažetak
Objectives: An important success factor of mandibulae conductive anesthesia are objective difficulties and obstacles caused by anatomical versions which change anatomical features or reduce their visibility. Methods: The research was done on a sample of 50 adult mandibles ( parameter of sex known). They had different dental status- teeth partially, completely or toothless. The measurements were made on the left and right side. The measured parameters describe the shape and position of foramen mandibulae and the existence of lingulae and antilingulae. Results: Average value of foramen mandibulae is 4, 48±0, 90mm and average depth 3, 31±0, 78mm. The position of foramen mandibulae is determined by the distance to superior border 22, 98±3, 32mm, inferior border 25, 20±3, 80mm, margo anterior 11, 10±2, 15mm, linea obliqua 15, 70±2, 21mm, posterior border 13, 41±2, 42mm. In 1, 1% of the cases lingula was not established, in 14, 3% lingula was indicated and in some degree it covered the entrance to the foramen mandibulae in 84.7%. Antilingula was noticed in 9.9% of the samples, while it did not exist in 90.1% of samples. 4, 5% of samples had multiple foramen mandibulae. This study proved the existence of statistically (T-test) significant differences between male and female gender for the examined parameters. Most of the measured values were higher in male than in female exept for the diameter and depth of the left foramen mandibulae, the depth of the right foramen mandibulae. T-test showed there were statistically significant differences between left and right side for the distance of foramen mandibulae to the inferior border (p<0, 05). Conclusions: Knowing the position of foramen mandibulae is a very demanding and responsible diagnostic approach before the actual dental care planning of mandibulae. Diversity in the position of foramen mandibulae is responsible for occasional failures of mandibular block anesthesia n. alveoaris inferior. Target location in the sulcus colli mandibulae is determined by the foramen mandibulae position.
