Sažetak
Good protection from corrosion with ecologically acceptable inhibitors greatly contributes to preservation of human health and reduction of economic losses due to various types of corrosion attacks. This work has examined the possibility of inhibition of corrosion of the Al-2.5 Mg alloy in a 3% NaCl solution by means of the acidic phenolic fraction from the aqueous extract of rosemary leaves and its five sub-fractions separated using solid-phase extraction (SPE). Measurements were carried out by the potentiodynamic method. Corrosion current densities were used to calculate the surface coverage by molecules adsorbed and inhibitor efficiency. It has been proved that the efficiency of the additives as inhibitors of corrosion of the Al-2.5 Mg alloy is very good, but that there are differences in inhibition behaviour of individual fractions. This may be attributed to the fact that each of these fractions contains different compounds to be identified in further examinations.
