Sažetak
The society and our living environment have changed completely within the last 20 years. Information-communication technology (ICT) has enabled the development of the digital world we nowadays live in. These changes have made possible the creation of the new sources of information and new learning processes, which were unimaginable until then. These changes have largely influenced the change of the teacher’s role. After the initial fears that the ICT will substitute the teacher in transfer of knowledge to the students, we have now realized that that was not the case. The teachers do not have to fear that they will be substituted, but with ICT and the development of knowledge based society, their role has to be redefined. The change of teacher’s role has to happen during their education. This paper aims to redefine the role of Faculties of Teacher’s Education as places which motivate the promotion of cooperation, development of knowledge and, above all, the information literacy of the future teachers.
