Sažetak
The strong relation between dolines and geological structure allow us the calculation of strain and stress orientation from the spatial distribution of dolines. The centre to centre method and the Frys graphical technique have been adapted to the new conditions and applied to dolines. The spatial distribution of results is related to the doline density of the study area. Once the punctual calculations of the finite strain are done the integration from one point to another is necessary to explain the spatial variations through the studied zone. Therefore, those results represent a base for the creation of the strain and stress trajectory maps of the Velebit mountain range. To pass from the local to the regional scale the Panozzos method has been used. In this way we have obtained the principal strain and stress orientations for the main tectonic blocs of the Velebit mountain range.
