Sažetak
The paper presents an analysis of transient behaviour of a turbine-generator set at short circuits at the generator terminals on the example of a laboratory model. The laboratory model involved a 4-pole synchronous generator driven by a DC motor connected to the generator over the measuring shaft of a torque transducer. A number of measurements was carried out for different types of short circuits occurring at the generator terminals at different prefault operation conditions. All relevant quantities of the turbine-generator set, electrical as well as mechanical, were measured. In order to investigate influence of the excitation control, measurements were carried out both for the case of constant excitation voltage and for the case of regulated excitation. Results of measurements relevant for the evaluation of the turbine-generator set strains are presented. Beside short circuit armature currents, excitation currents and torsional torques are analyzed. The measured results for different short-circuit cases are compared and the severeness of each type of short circuit are evaluated.
