Sažetak
Strengths of children and youth at risk in Croatia A comprehensive research of risks and needs of children and adolescents at risk or with behaviour disorders was conducted in Croatia, through scientific project „Matching interventions with risk/needs of children and youth at risk – creating a model“ (Faculty of Educational and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb). The purpose of the project is to entice a stronger and more explicit orientation of the interventions system towards the rights and needs of children and youth at risk. Assessment of strengths, risks, and intervention needs of children and youth in the phase of entering the intervention system for children/youth with behaviour disorders was conducted by applying instrument Youth Level of Services / Case Management Inventory (YLS / CMI). Sample was chosen on the basis of the area size criterion, covering urban areas of five different sizes. It included 612 children and adolescents, 512 of them were male and 100 female. Their age is from 8 to 21. The goal of this presentation is to explore for both, male and female subsample, specific strength domains, to describe those domains and to discover relations between strength domains on one hand and the level of risk and domains of risk on the other. In order to gain more in - depth understanding of person-based and environment – based variables associated with perceived strength domains, qualitative analysis will be done.
