Sažetak
An experiment with three different tillage systems and their influence on energy requirement per hectare and per tonne of crop yield was carried out on silty loam soil in central Slavonia, main area for arable crops production in Croatia in the period 2002-2004. The tested crops were soybean (Glycine max L.) and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and compared tillage systems were: 1. conventional tillage system (CT), 2. conservation tillage system (RT), 3. no-tillage system (NT). Soil tillage systems comparison regarding fuel consumption for tillage and sowing per hectare showed that CT system required in average 67.72 L/ha for tillage and sowing, while RT system required 21.6% less and NT system even 90.1% less fuel then CT system. The highest yield of soybean in the first experimental season was achieved under NT system and the lowest under RT system. In the second experimental season the highest yield of winter wheat was also achieved under NT system and the lowest under RT system. Comparison of tillage systems regarding energy requirement per tonne of yield showed that CT system required 872.67 MJ/t in soybean and 401.55 MJ/t in winter wheat production, while RT system required 12.4% and 17.3% less, respectively, and NT system required even 90.1% and 90.6% less than CT system, respectively.
