Sažetak
The paper presents an analysis of currents and torsional torques at sudden short circuits at the synchronous generator's terminals. The analysis has been carried out on the basis of the results obtained by measurements on a laboratory model. The model included a 4-pole synchronous generator driven by a DC motor connected to the generator over the measuring shaft of a torque transducer. Measurements were carried out for different types of short circuits occurring at different prefault operation conditions. All relevant quantities, electrical as well as mechanical, were measured. Results of measurements are presented. The results obtained for different short-circuit cases are compared and severeness of each type of short circuits is evaluated.
