Sažetak
Research on copepod communities in two gypsum karst lakes was conducted during 2006 in Kosovo polje near Knin, Croatia. The focus of research was on copepods and their correlation with specific abiotic parameters for gvpsum karst like sulfates, conductivitv, TDS, alkalinitv, etc. The results were compared with non gvpsum karst lakes also near Knin. Data on environmental variables and crustacean zooplankton were analvzed using Canonical Correspondence Analvsis (CCA). The model explained 75, 72% variance of crustacean zooplankton and environmental data. The major environmental variables influencing copepods in gypsum karst lakes are sulfates, conductivitv, TDS, nitrogen compounds, pH and chlorophvll a and in non gvpsum karst lakes the major variables are oxygen regime, phosphorus, alkalinitv and temperature. In gvpsum karst lakes two omnivorous cvclopoid copepod species were recorded: Tropocvclops prasinus (Fischer, 1860) and Cyclops vicinus Uljanine, 1875, while in non gvpsum karst lakes we found the omnivorous cvclopoid copepod Mezocyclops leucarti (Claus, 1857) and the phvtophagous calanoid copepod Eudiaptomus hadzici (Brehm, 1939).
