Sažetak
The purpose of this paper is to offer a critical insight into the present moment of Croatian literary and cultural theory. Taking that discussion as a starting point the paper critically engages with the question of the reification of/by theory. Instead of simply arguing that theory reifies and commodifies its object the paper attempts to describe relation of theory to its object as a relation of co-appearing (Jean-Luc Nancy). In the conclusion, it is proposed to understand the theoretician as Derridean scholar-to-come. In that way the theory is understood as relation-with its object, instead as reifying relation-to its object.
