Period of administration of the ban Ivan Mazuranic was a time of intensive modernisation of the Croatian legal system. Principal determinants of that process were role of the Croatian Diet with liberal nationalist as majority, Hungarian Diet and the King. Position of Ivan Mazuranic in that interplay can be explained by reference to his biography.
