Sažetak
High efficiency multimedia encoding (especially audio) is a technology that has grown immensely in the last 10 years. New and efficient compression methods, however, have posed several new implementation problems that were nonexisting in the days of ADPCM, uLAW and similar algorithms. Topics discussed here in handling of non-integer and non-constant compression ratios, which pose a great problem in implementing synchronous APIs for software packages that provide decoding of such content.
