Sažetak
Contemporary organizations have been facing increased change. The competition has become even more intense because firms are competing for fewer resources. The resulting environment requires adaptation in forms of new products, services, processes and business models. Thus, organizational climate that will provide necessary prerequisites for development of creativity and innovation is an important factor to organizational success. The main research goal was to determine specific characteristics of the creative climate in Croatian SMEs and then compare them with the existing research. In addition, we will establish potential effect that creative climate and innovation have on business performance in investigated SMEs. The paper is organized as follows. First, we will discuss theoretical framework concerning measurement of creative climate. The basis for measuring organizational climate was Ekvall's Creative Climate Questionnaire. This instrument encompasses ten dimensions: challenge, freedom, idea time, trust/openness, dynamism/liveliness, playfulness/humour, debates, conflicts, risk taking and idea support. Next, we will introduce research methodology and results. We will conclude by identifying several areas that need further research.
