Sažetak
The topic of this paper is revitalization of the rural areas. The causes for the beginning of their revitalization in the high developed countries are fortified especially in the EU countries. The authors analyzed the economic backwardness of the Croatian rural areas (counties). Then the possibilities for improving qualty of life are researched on the example of the large rural county named Bjelovarsko-Bilogorska county. Special importance has been attached to the activities which could improve the economic development and the quality of life in the rural areas.
