Sažetak
Nonwoven composites incorporating three layers, viscose pre-filter layer, middle adsorbent layer (ACN) and next-to skin layer, are high surface chemical protective fabric for decontaminating human body and military equipment as they are devoid of loose particles, drapable and flexible. This composite, under the name FIBERTECT, is manufactured at Texas Tech. University by using HI technology needle loom Fehrer AG. Recently it is published and described adsorption potential of this nonwoven material. This paper discusses electrokinetic potentials of three mentioned layers measured by streaming potential/current method and specific quantity of surface charge by back-titration method. Many phenomena occurring at solid-liquid interface, such as wettability, adsorption, particle aggregation, depends on a large extend on the kind and magnitude of the solid surface free energy and surface electrokinetic properties in water solution, like zeta potential and specific amount of surface charge. Interface phenomena happen in liquid and solid surface contact. Fibre surface charge depends upon their molecular and supramolecular structure, swelling capacity as well as upon ionogenity, structure and concentration of adsorbate. These phenomena are crucial for textile dyeing and finishing processes as well as for textile care, they characterize material surface. In this paper electrokinetic potential, isoelectric point, point of zero charge, specific amount of surface charge of each layer and of composite structure were measured. Not only for this but for others parameters (like flame ratardancy) it is to point out a high influence of layer to layers on the total composite behavior.
