Sažetak
In contrast to the utilitarianism of moral principles, according to which humans automatically approve of things that help society, the Bohemian Count Franz Joseph Kinsky claimed that reason alone cannot govern our passions and develop our sense of duty. He thinks that this is possible only by means of religion. By closely scrutinising Count Kinsky's line of argument, this paper argues that the Christian view of man was not antithetical to the Enlightenment's anthropology.
