Sažetak
Strategic alliances have become very popular and broadly applied practice of building inter-organizational relationships. Their number on the global business scale has constantly been on the increase, especially in the case of cross-border cooperation. Although there are many possible causes for the success or failure of a strategic alliance, emotions are among few that can have both positive and negative effects. They can be understood either as a cause or an effect of inter-organizational bounding and can be shaped by culturally- or politically-driven emotions in the social environment. The aim of the paper is to look into the role of emotions in international strategic alliances. In order to gain better understanding of their two-way and bipolar influence, we have conducted an exploratory qualitative research in two former Yugoslav republics – Serbia and Croatia. This research represents a first stage of a broader project in which the conceptual framework of understanding emotional dynamics and research propositions are presented.
