Sažetak
Collective state of charge density waves (CDW) occurs in systems with quasi low-dimensional electronic structure. Due to the inherently multicomponent order parameter CDW is one of the main representatives of strongly correlated electronic systems for the investigation of cooperative phenomena, particularly between the lattice and the electronic subsystem. Unusual properties of CDW systems such as nonlinear transport, giant dielectric constant or torsion in electric field are generally well investigated and understood in bulk samples. However, at very small scales and very short times new phenomena are observed, such as negative differential resistance on nanometer scales or nonthermal melting of CDW at the times below picosecond. Rapid development of new techniques for direct observation of structural changes with femtosecond resolution demands also adequate samples.
