Sažetak
This paper presents description of casting of brake shoes in molds with vertical division. Due to mold position cooling conditions of castings are changed in respect to the former horizontal position 1 which represents danger for eventual change of mechanical properties of castings.
During production process chemical properties, hardness, tensile strength and metalographical analysis in three cross sections of the brake shoe have been performed.
On the basis of obtained testing results it has been determined that position of casting in the mold does not effect the change of the above mentioned properties of the brake shoes.
