Sažetak
Mycotoxins are natural contaminants of different commodities and human exposure to mycotoxins canno be avoided. Mycotoxin aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is confirmed as a human carcinogen, while some other mycotoxins, such as fumonisin Bq (FB1) and ochratoxin A (OTA), are carcinogenic in experimental animals but the proof of carcinogenicity of FB1 and OTA are not known. However, studies of their mechanims of carcinogenicity showd that epigenetic effects are likely to be involved. Research on experimental animals and legislation is focused on exposure to a single mycotoxin, a situation is that rarely occurs in natural conditions. Various combinations of mycotoxins could give rise to synergistic toxic effect and promte their carciongenicity.
