Sažetak
Several studies established a benefcial and preventive role of the Mediterranean diet on the occurrence of cerebrovascular diseases, chronic neurodegenerative diseases and neoplasms, obesity and diabetes. Mediterranean diet in a randomized intervention trials improved endothelial function and signifcantly reduced waist circumference, plasma glucose, serum insulin in metabolic syndrome.
