Sažetak
The paper suggestes and delas with a new techique for the determination of the optimal velocity (Vopt) for the passenger trains, which represents at the same time an essential parameter both for the construction and recenstrustion of a new railway for higer velocity. Essentially, the suggested procedure requires that all the annual costs and social effects resulting from the passenger, transportation, should be presented in dependence on the velocity per unit of the perfomed operation (1gross t km).
The matematical model suggested in this paper represents a firm basis for defining with sufficient accurarcy, the regularity of the curve which approximates in the best way the total costs and social affects preserted by a set of points in a plane (T,v). Employing this procedure it is possible to determine the real minimum of the function of costs and social effects, i.e. the optimal velocity. The investigations have shown that the incrase in the velocity of passenger trains divergently infuences the costs and soical effects. The point in which there is minimum disagreement between these tenedencies, represents the optimal velocity for passenger trains.
