Sažetak
Crosslinked macroporous copolymers of glycidyl methacrylate with ethylene glycol dimethacrylate [poly(GMA-co-EGDMA)] can be applied in various fields as shown in Figure 1. Syntheses and copolymer characterisation were thoroughly described earlier and quoted in reference 1. The porosity parameters obtained from experiments (Figure 2) in addition to the calculated1 specific pore volume (Vscal) are summarized in Table 1. Calculation of the specific pore volumes based on van der Waals volumes by Bondi, confirmed that Bondi’s parameters can be considered as the best expression for different chemical group occupancy. It is evident from Table 1 that with application of the method described in reference 1, the specific pore volume of poly(GMA-co-EGDMA) copolymers can be estimated within experimental errors, i.e. with an average relative deviation of 8.2 % only. 1.
