Sažetak
An increased emphasis of children' s rights has resulted in sustained attention to children' s participation in research and examination of traditional research methods. Therefore, children' s participation in research has increased significantly in recent years and it is still expanding. Foreing authors have developed different models of participation as well as different research methods and techniques when it comes to involving children in the research. Although participatory research with children does not represent innovative theme, when it comes to practice in the field of social pedagogy in Croatia, it is rather new concept. During the past ten years small team of researches at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences had developed few different scientific projects with children and young people based on participatory principles. Where are we in comparison to the above mentioned models and compared to key dimensions of participatory researches, what have we learned and where do we want to go in children-centered participatory research? Therefore, this presentation shows the possibilities of implementation of children and young people' s participation, understanding the users perspective as well as key practical and ethical challenges of participatory researches with children and young people in Croatia. So, in this presentation we will focus on describing our trip through participatory research with children and young people in Croatian context.
