Sažetak
Forest skid trails as secondary forest roads represent the necessary building facilities in intensive and rational management of forest eco-system when skidders are used in the II phase of the forest harvesting. This paper deals with damages which occur on skid trails and which are caused by skidding log by skidder LKT 80. The research has been carried out in 2000 in the area of the Educational Experimental Forest Object Zalesina of the Faculty of Forestry of the Zagreb University in the department 5 of the management unit Belevine. It is a mountain area with uneven-aged forests of firs and beeches (Blechno abietum). Final parts (connections with auxiliary storage place) of two old, existing skid trails have been singled out as the aim of research, each 96,00 m long. 25 cross sections have been surveyed on each haulage track before and after the completed skidding. Point of ruptures of each profile were surveyed at the distance of 20 cm and the distance between neighbouring profiles was 4,00 m. At the same time, logs which were skidding through each skid track were examined and their average diameter and length were measured. Data obtained by terrain measurement were processed by a personal computer and AutoCad programme package, as well as by usual mathematical, analytical and statistical methods.
