Sažetak
The paper deals with the cotton fabric behavior in various desizing procedures in order to obtain textiles without starch sediment, with significantly improved characteristics, with unchanged or improved other parameters that define the quality. Depending on the structure and constructive decision of fabrics, there is an appropriate response to the action of active agents on one hand, while on the other, while operating, the temperature, the ratio of the bath and the concentration of active agent also have the impact. It was shown that besides the appearance and touch, the most important parameters that directly show the desizing degree and damaged extent are mass and tensile strength change. Individual results for weight loss go up to 10 %, while in the worst cases fall strength does not exceed 19 %. Cotton fabrics respond best to treatment with the enzyme, as an active agent, with the best results regarding side effects and the effects achieved. Slightly worse but no less worthy results are obtained by procedures with hydrogen peroxide.
