Sažetak
Severity of Fusarium Ear Rot of maize is influenced by several factors and among them one of the most important is genotype susceptibility. We determined differences in genotype susceptibility to Ear Rot in field trials and with laboratory analyses, after artifical inoculation with isolates of Fusarium graminearum, Fusarium verticillioides and Fusarium subglutinans. We used 8 domestic and 5 Canadian lines, which were marked as highly tolerant. Depending on the genotype, ear rot index in untreated variety was between 0 and 30. In treated variety, ear rot index was between 20 and 500. TKW was reduced from 1.33 to 72.29 % if compared to control. High negative correlation coefficient (r=-0, 72, r=-0, 86) was determined between ear rot index andTKW. Percentage of grains with rot symptoms depened on the genotype and Fusarium species. After infection with Fusarium graminearum it was from 11.24 to 90.00%, after infection with F. subglutinans it was from 7.84 to 87.14% and after infection with F. verticillioides it was from 1.35 to 18.08%. The amount of produced DON and fumonisins after infection with F. graminearum and F. verticillioides was between 64 and 564 mg/kg of grains for DON and <1 to 27, 4 mg/kg of grains for fumonisins.
