Sažetak
In this paper was shown financing shema, content and some research results achieved in project named Development and Use of Environmentally Acceptable Operating Techniques and Technologies. The basic feature of this project is the technical side of forest activities with the emphasis on environmental, ergonomics and energy aspects. According to a short overview of some research results it can be concluded:
1. Cone penetrometer can estimate soil compaction, but because of his well known disadvantages Faculty of forestry in Zagreb developed prototype of penetration-rotational plate penetrometer. The first results encourages further development in this direction.
2. Results based on investigations of in Croatia developed medium sized thinning skidder show that for vehicle where environmentally factors are taken into account at the stage of its project design have better properties.
3. The investigation of ergonomics characteristics of forest machines and physical stress of some forest works confirm fact that nearly 50 % of all professional diseases in Croatia are caused by noise and vibration. It should also be noted that Croatian forestry is second industry sector considering the number of registered invalids.
4. Some results shoved that energy consumption for the production of wood is much less than the energy that can be obtain.
