Sažetak
The grapevine yellows disease has been reported in Slovenia and, only personally communicated, in Croatia. Nucleic acid samples from phloem of winter cuttings of grapevine cultivars "Chardonnay" and "Pinot gris" from Croatia and "Chardonnay and "Rebula" from Slovenia were extracted. They were used for direct and nested polymerase chain reactions (PCR) with general and specific phytoplasma primer pairs, respectively. The results revealed the presence of the aster yellows group phytoplasmas (16SrI). Further research are currently carried out in order to further classify the detected phytoplasmas. This is the first report of grapevine phytoplasmal infection in Croatia.
