Sažetak
Traceability in distribution is one of the important aspects of securing the pedigree of the pharmaceutical product in supply chain. Air freight is a frequently used model of transportation for pharmaceuticals but also one of the most complex models. Regularly, several different stakeholders are involved in processing of a pharmaceutical shipment in air freight, thus contributing to the overall complexity of the distribution environment. Securing a solid traceability system becomes a challenge in ever changing regulatory environment. The paper analyses potentials in currently available track and trace systems accounting the obligation to monitor and record shipment attributes during the transportation. Data loggers are most commonly used monitoring devices for collecting data on different shipment attributes during transportation. The paper reviews their value in terms of efficiency in daily use. In addition, RFID technology is evaluated, thus comparing the value of historical against the real time data.
