Sažetak
Environmental impact assessment as an important technique for sustainable development, includes strategic chapters that follow the legislation therefore develop the best possible solutions in order to protect the environment from the consequences of intervention. The elements of the EIA explain the approach how to solve problems, and integrate them with other techniques that are an inevitable factor in the process. Strategic environmental impact assessment deals with all aspects following the plan and program, while the use of the environmental impact assessment, as well as the inevitable environmental impact study of each operation is shown through the example of the procedure within the petrochemical plant in the DINA Petrokemija Inc., showing the excellent organization of companies with constant improvement of content and type of testing. Tests show the results over the period from the year 1986. till the 2005. The study follows the law regulation and the adherence of DINA Petrokemija Inc. that with any new procedure not only obeys the implementation of the measures for the environmental protection, but also works on the improvement of the technological processes to reduce any impact to the minimum.
