Sažetak
Across Europe in last few years the increased PPP involvment for public infrastructure projects is evident. The priorities in therms of PPP spend remain, as ever, with transport and that means roads with a dash of heavy and light rail. However, more and more EU countries are recognising the benefits of the application of PPP method for educational public buildings, such as schools and sport facilities. The lack of educational infrastructure facilities in Croatia demonstrates that the traditional procurement route is not able to fulfill all the necessary requirements in the short and medium therm. In this paper the PPP method of realization of the Schools National project will be presented and the barriers and difficulties (e.g. organizational, legal, financial etc.) affecting its immediate applicability in the Republic of Croatia will be discussed.
