Sažetak
The present overview demonstrates the urgent need for a systematic approach to the research, study and protection of post-mediaeval underwater cultural heritage in Croatia. Several important and interesting sites, such as Gnalić, Suđurađ and Drevine, have already provided valuable information on post-mediaeval trade, but still deserve a the serious attention of experts from many different fields and the right solution for an in situ protection of the remaining finds. The same statement could be applied to all the other post-mediaeval shipwrecks whose potential is still to be defined in order to propose an adequate approach to their protection and eventual systematic research.
