Sažetak
The application of new educational technologies in the students’ education, as well as the computer literacy of all those who are included in the system of education, is an imperative of our times. The computerization of education is becoming a part of education of the whole society and a basic precondition of the quality education of young people. According to the Bologne process the teachers must announce the results of the written exam within three days, and in case there is a larger number of students, they need to use different educational technologies in order to fulfill their duties. This work shows the use of e- learner tests in proficiency examination in the subjects Informatics and The Basics of Economy in Tourism, and the opinion of both students and teachers on such a way of examination. In the year 2004/5 at the University of Zadar we have used such a form of examination for the first time, instead of the written exam. The teacher has created a database of 200 questions and belonging answers. From that base of questions a teacher forms different tests. The students approach the proficiency examination in the informatics classroom, in the groups of 14 students: the professor decides which exam they will open and the students answer the questions within a certain timeframe. This research will show if the students and teachers have accepted such a form of proficiency examination which has replaced the written exams. Such an examination demands a certain effort from the teacher, in creating the questions and answers, but later on the correction of the exam is done by the system so it makes the teacher’s work easier. The research is made on the sample of the first year students from the Information and Communication Studies Department, and the Department of Psychology. The survey about the students' opinion is in its most part made online, with a special poll-tool which does also the statistic elaboration. We will analyze the attained results with different methods of descriptive statistics. This kind of examination enables the student to obtain the information about his/her success immediately after completing the test. This diminishes the suspense of expectation of the test results. The teacher feels relieved too, because he can examine more than 70 students in one day.
