Sažetak
Thermoacoustic apparatus uses temperature difference to produce sound and vice-versa, sound to produce temperature difference. These two physical processes can be applied in thermoacoustic apparatus which belongs to two basic groups: the first one uses temperature difference (i. e. heat) to produce the sound which subsequently via special converter can produce electricity. The second group uses sound to produce temperature difference, i. e. cooling power. Here belong heat pumps, (refrigerators), and cryocoolers. Both processes are explained as well as concepts of thermoacoustic apparatus that use them. History and present level of the development of a thermoacoustic apparatus are reviewed and future perspective are given.
