Sažetak
The paper presents the current state of the agencification process in Croatia pointing out to the both the process and the institutional design. The agency model in Croatia consists of several types of more or less autonomous administrative organizations, situated at different distance from the government centre. The most evident pressures for agencification are found in decentralization, managerial responses and the Europeanization. The reversal of the process in recent years is mostly due to the need for rationalization of public administration system which is under pressure of economic crisis.
