Sažetak
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was used to study interactions of DNA binding compounds, PHENPOD and PYPOD, with double-stranded polynucleotides, poly dAdT-poly dAdT and poly dGdC-poly dGdC. SERS spectra of solutions at low polyamine concentrations (10–6–10–5 mol dm3) revealed strong enhancement of the Raman scattering from the polyamine molecules attached on the colloidal silver particles. New bands observed in the spectra with double-stranded polynucleotides originated mainly from nucleobases, indicating interactions between polyamines and polynucleotides. It was obtained that PHENPOD and PYPOD selectively interact with ace-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was used to study interactions of DNA binding compounds, PHENPOD and PYPOD, with double-stranded polynucleotides, poly dAdT-poly dAdT and poly dGdC-poly dGdC. New bands observed in the spectra with double-stranded polynucleotides originated mainly from nucleobases, indicating interactions between polyamines and polynucleotides. It was obtained that PHENPOD and PYPOD selectively interact with polynucleotides depending on their base pair structures. Interactions of both polyamines with the major and the minor groove are recognized for poly dAdT-poly dAdT, while only the PYPOD molecules bind to the major groove of the poly dGdC-poly dGdC polynucleotide.
