Sažetak
The aim of this study was to compare sealing ability of five root canal sealers, AH26, AH Plus, Apexit, Diaket and Ketac Endo cement, after storage in physiological solution for 1 year. The experiment was conducted on 60 single rooted teeth. The crowns of the teeth were removed at the amelo-cemental junction together with 3 mm of root tip, leaving roots 8 mm in length. Root section were instrumented using a stepback technique with Gates Glidden drills and irrigated with 2.5% NaOCl. The samples were divided into 5 groups of 10 teeth and filled with materials and gutta-percha points by the lateral condensation technique. Ten teeth were used as a control group, out of which 5 were negative and 5 positive. The specimens were stored in physiological solution at 37°C for 1 year. The root section was mounted in a fluid transport model and the leakage was measured by the movement of an air bubble in a capillary glass tube connected with experimental root section. The differences in leakage between sealers were statistically analysed using Student's t-test and analysis of variance. In negative controls no fluid transport was recorded, whereas in the positive controls the air bubble moved too fast to be measured.. The difference in leakage between sealers were statistically analyzed using Student's t-test and analysis of variance. In negative controls no fluid transport was recorded, whereas in the positive controls the air bubble moved too fast to be measured. Apexit (0.490ľl ; s.d.0.137) showed significantly more leakage than AH Plus (0.378ľl ; s.d.0.0.076) and Ketac Endo (0.357ľl ; s.d.0.082). The difference among AH26 (0.390ľl ; s.d.0.071), Diaket (0.429ľl ; s.d.0.152) and Apexit was not statistically significant.
