Sažetak
This article deals with some sections of the enormous medallic oeuvre of the Croatian medallist and sculptor Ivo Kerdić (b. Davor, May 19 1881 – d. Zagreb, October 27 1953). Its bulk concentrates on the partly preserved correspondence between Kerdić and his American friend William Chauncey Langdon, which ought to be published in extenso – at least what we have at our disposal at the moment. These letters are of interest to anyone dealing with the art of the medal between the two world wars, not only in Europe, but also in the United States. Only several letters exchanged between the two mention the creation of a portrait medal of Langdon’s.
