Sažetak
In precision manufacturing the positioning of the workpiece is key issue in order to ensure the appropriate sizes of the machined parts. In positioning of the workpiece we may use high precision locators or adjustable pins. In the paper a special adjusting methodology will be introduced. To locate the cylindrical parts V-block is widely used that firmly defines the symmetry plane of the cylinder. However the V-block is not able to locate precisely the axis or the top line of the cylinder, these positions vary because of the differences in the diameter and the V angle of the locator. In the proposed methodology we deformed the V-block and changed the V angle in order to adjust the position of the axis of the cylinder. Because of the adequate connection between the deforming force and the deformation as well as the position of the axis can be measured in the case of different deformation we may control the cylinder position applying predefined force. The paper summarizes the experiments we carried out to define the necessary deforming forces in the case of 3 different V-block geometries and two different V-block materials. These experiments validated that the deformation method is a reliable way for adjusting the axis of a cylinder using an additional, controllable positioning force.
