Sažetak
This paper focuses on rural tourism as one of the special forms of tourism. It analyze situation of rural tourism in Croatia, as well as in Europe through examples of different models of development of rural tourism in some European countries (Austria, France, United Kingdom, Slovenia and Italy). The lack of a unified model of rural tourism in Europe is reflected in its diverse ways of organizing on the national and regional levels. Attention is given to the possibilities and ways how to use and apply presented European experiences and examples in the development of rural tourism in Croatia on the threshold of Croatian accession to the European Union.
