Sažetak
In most cities the everyday becomes more and more complex.City agglomerations, especially centres of the cities, are facing the increasing concentration of traffic movements, especially of private cars. The use of private cars is a result of the increasing living standard of citizens, accessibility of the car and their experience of freedom of movement. Th traffic planers are faced with the problem of satisfying numerous needs for movement of the city population and the disposable and rational use of the traffic infrastructure, in order to achieve the sustainable life in city agglomerations. One of the basic goals of the overall traffic policy is dimensioning of the car travels to the acceptable and sustainable level, and there is on increasing use of parking policy in achieving this goal. This is proven bay the experiences of the cities in developed countries, as well as by the increasing number of research work and analysis of the influence of parking policy on the traffic management in city agglomerations. The city of Zagreb has recognised this fact and has spaces in the central city area. First result encourage the plan makers and strategists to continue with the implementation of parking policy designed to contribute to the overall traffic policy.
