Sažetak
How does the Braille become part of daily life of blind persons – or how does it become as a part of „our“ lifes. Does that mean were braille letters appear and blind persons are been able to geather some information in daily life or is it more that just measurement of the level of information access in everyday life. Doing online review of research and literature – some interesting information have been found like: in 2005. NASA has announced publishing the braille book. The braille book on the Sun would enable blind and visually impaired students to learn about our nearest star through tactile experience – „Touch the Sun: A NASA Braille book“ authored by Noreen Grice. An author has described this valuable reading source as the opportunity to make patterns and textures embossed over the solar images translate into shapes, colors, and other intricate details, allowing visually handicapped readers to feel what they cannot see. But, before „touching the sun by using braille“– should we touch single dot first? Braille should become part of daily life early – as a part of blind children pre reading stage. Sighed children often learn incidentally though casual opservation, and in contrast – blind children have to learn and gain experience deliberately. Braille readiness activities and picture books for children should support optimal development of variety of different pre braille concepts and braille readiness. Yes, braille should be a part of the daily life in preschool children 3-6. Participants of the workshop will be involved in activities of 1.OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP Through activities planned in the workshop objective is to define rehabilitation key points and strategies of supporting optimal reading and writing development (emergent literacy) in visually impaired preschool children. 2.METHODS OF THE WORKSHOP 1.case study review, 2. brainstorming, discussion 3.activities of making materials suitable for supporting development of pre braille concepts and emergent literacy 3.PARTICIPANTS Activities will be suitable for experts (teachers, kinder garden teacher, IV teachers, itinerant teachers, rehabilitation workers, social worker) and parents who have some knowledge and experience in the field of braille instruction and teaching activities (preferably do know how to read and write Braille).
