Sažetak
This paper deals with stability analysis of thin-walled laminated composite beam-type structures. One-dimensional finite element is employed under assumptions of large displacements but small strains. Also, using non-linear displacement field of cross-section that includes the large rotation effects, the geometric stiffness matrix of thin-walled beam finite element is derived. Its importance is to ensure the equilibrium of internal moments at the connection of non-collinear beam members. The non-linear displacement field terms play an important role in general buckling problems and omission of these terms may lead to inaccurate results for critical buckling loads in some cases. Model is based on classical lamination theory for arbitrary laminate stacking sequence and tries to predict an accurate structural response for various configurations, boundary conditions and laminate orientation. Cross section is supposed to be made of thin fibre-reinforced laminates that obey the usual laminate constitutive relations. The mid-line cross-section contour is assumed to not deform in its own plane and the shear strain of middle surface is assumed to be zero.
