Sažetak
In underware sewing an important factor of seam quality is the right needle size. It has a large influence on apperance of material demage by sewing.For knitted fabrics the needle size should be as thin as possible to prevent the accurrance of loop breaks. The form of the needle point is selected according to the type of material.Demages of the needle point can also result in material demage. A comparasion of the standard and coated needle before and after the sewing operation using a scanning electron microscope (FE SEM), and the invesigation of seam strenght was made.
