Sažetak
Nuclear knowledge from nuclear sciences and technologies should be connected with and applied in other important issues such as nuclear waste management, regulatory and policy aspects, public relations, sustainable development, proliferation, etc. Nuclear knowledge management is important factor in research and development processes and decision-making processes in nuclear and related non-nuclear fields. The Republic of Croatia promulgated the Nuclear Safety Act enacted by the Croatian Parliament. This Act: regulates safety and protective measures for using nuclear materials, specified equipment and performing nuclear activities, establishes the State Office for Nuclear Safety. The State Office is also a carrier of all INIS activities within national boundaries and names National INIS Liaison Officer. Alternate National INIS Liaison Officer - person from university environment to improve cooperation between state institutions and universities. Croatia joined International Nuclear Information System in 1994. At the end of 1998, the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Croatia issued the Decree about founding the TPC (Technical Support Centre) as the leading technical agency for case of a nuclear emergency, i.e. a potential radiological emergency from nuclear facilities, especially from Krsko NPP (Slovenia) and Paks NPP (Hungary). The TPC has been organised into 3 expert groups: for environmental monitoring, for analysis of emergency and estimation of consequences and for preparation of technical bases. Each of them is supported in its work by outside expert institutions. State Office for Radiation Protection deals with: radiation protection in Croatia, RW management, licensing and registration procedures together with the forms, general framework for emergency response. Experience in NPP Krsko sharing responsibilities and utilization. Employees in nuclear field of science, engineering and technology need: continuous basic education and training on universities and special courses and training with experts. Universities are regarded: as teaching and educational institutions and also as creators of new knowledge and innovation through research and organization of knowledge and information exchange. In 2005 Croatian universities (Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek...) were reorganised according to Bologna Declaration and fully involved in European study system. Involvement in regional technical cooperation project in Europe supported by IAEA in the field of nuclear techniques for humanitarian demining (PELAN (Pulsed Elemental Analysis with Neutrons). Promoting of NKM activities through articles on expert meetings, conferences, congresses..., and in journals. Experts from universities, state institutions, organizations and companies should: cooperate in nuclear knowledge preservation projects, emphasize importance and value of nuclear knowledge, explicit and, specially, tacit knowledge, and collaborate in nuclear knowledge management.
