Sažetak
The paper presents results of analysis of welded joint types produced at section assembly of ship hull production. The welded joint analysis, made for a year production at selected shipyard, represents a base for assessment of current level of welding automation achieved in this early phase of ship production. Taking into account main principles of Theory of Constraints and Lean manufacturing, in the paper are examined possible ways of welding automation improvement, based on the results of performed analysis. Authors had analyzed selected shipyard yearly production programme in order to assess automated welding needs and to make suggestion for process improvement. Improvement recommendations take into account modern and proven continuous improvement methodologies.
