Sažetak
This paper presents the computation of the reliability of a steel bridge built along the Adriatic coast in Croatia. In addition to the traffic load, the bridge is exposed to the action of a very cold, catabatic, local, changeable wind. The Bora load was computed by measurements of second-values of the wind load at specific locations of the bridge.
The reliability analysis of the steel bridge structure with a dynamic wind load, regarding its bearing capacity, i.e. the collapse of its bearing capacity, was performed employing a probabilistic procedure. The simulation of the wind-structure interaction was carried out using the modal analysis. According to the theory of stochastic vibrations it was possible to define the reaction of the bridge on the wind action. All the relevant factors in the equation of the limit state of the bearing capacity, which define the mechanical properties of the material, cross sectional geometric characteristics of the bridge structure, the intensity and the type of the wind load and the traffic load are random values. The reliability index for the given steel bridge with a wind action as a load was computed.
The performed investigations represent a basis for the development of national standards for the design of steel bridges with a dynamic wind load.
