Sažetak
Alongside the well known β-lactams, literature also describes their O-analogs, β-lactons, as structural entities that bring up biological activity. Furtheron, β-lactons are usefull precursors in organic synthesis such as in the preparation of allenes or β-aminoacids. Therefore the convenient synthetic route of preparing these interesting four memberd heterocycles, differently substituted, has occurred as an object of investigation. The fact that the adamantane moiety is present as a pharmacophoric group in different therapeutic agents makes idea of preparing adamantyl-substituted β-lactones quite intriguing. Herein we present a simple method of preparing adamantyl-substituted β-butyrolactones 1 and 2 as well as their structural elucidation. The reactivity of these molecules towards the ring opening will also be discussed.
