Sažetak
Objectives: This paper presents several segmentation techniques used in prosthetic and CAD / CAM modeling. Methods: The first step consists of using the digitized image obtained with a medical diagnostic device, such as Computed tomography (CT) or Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner. The medical data was then exported into the DICOM standard format. The segmentation process is crucial for an accurate geometric model of anatomical structure. Choosing between one or more segmentation techniques follows in the next step. The resulting model is exported to a vector format for further processing and analysis in the final step. Results: The classification of several of the most frequent techniques was performed. The selected segmentation techniques were analyzed and shown schematically. The quality of results obtained by the computer model plays an important role in subsequent analyses such as FEM, FDM or FVM. Conclusions: The selection of segmentation techniques depends primarily on the input parameters of obtained data. The selection of devices for medical diagnostics also plays an important role. In clinical practice, for example, MRI is often used for soft tissue analysis while CT is often used for display and analysis of hard tissue.
